Moving from Austria to Spain

International removals from Austria to Spain

Adria Moving organises door-to-door removals from Austria to Spain — from shipping boxes to Spain and sending suitcases, to moving household goods and personal effects across the EU. We run regular cross-border solutions via consolidated groupage (LTL) or a private dedicated van (FTL). Pickups are available throughout Austria, including Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, St. Pölten and Wels, with delivery to Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Málaga, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Alicante and more. You can request tracking updates and add optional insurance for sending personal belongings to Spain and shipping personal effects to Spain.

✈️

Air options (on request)

When timing matters, we can arrange air solutions for urgent unaccompanied baggage and high-value items. Availability depends on routing and screening requirements. Collection across Austria and delivery across Spain can be quoted once we confirm dimensions, weight, and preferred dates.

🚛

Dedicated van (FTL)

A private, sole-use vehicle for fragile sets, strict timelines or larger moves. No cross-docking and fewer handling points. On Austria → Spain lanes, typical transit is 36–96 hours after collection (distance and driver hours apply).

📦

Groupage (LTL)

Budget-friendly shared transport for courier boxes to door to door, pallets and mini-moves — from about 30 kg up to roughly 3–10 m³, with regular departures. Ideal if you’re shipping boxes, suitcases or palletised personal effects.

What we move from Austria to Spain

From small consignments to full household moves: boxes, luggage, books, clothing, sports gear and selected furniture. For safer handling on long EU routes, we can also ship palletised personal effects — easier loading, cleaner consolidation and reduced risk in transit.

Transit times & how pricing works

Economy groupage: typically 5–10 working days, depending on pickup/delivery postcodes and weekly consolidation plans. Dedicated van: commonly 36–96 hours after collection. Pricing is driven by volume/weight, the chosen service, access conditions (lift/stairs/long carry), route distance, and any packing/fragile handling requirements.

Typical volume Best option Typical transit Estimated price (from)
30–80 kg (2–4 boxes) Groupage boxes, courier boxes to door to door 5–10 working days €540+
0.8–1.5 m³ (6–12 boxes) Groupage boxes / palletised effects 5–10 working days €1,320+
2–4 m³ (1 pallet / mini-move) Pallet LTL (EUR-pallet) 5–10 working days €1,690+
5–10 m³ (partial load) LTL / dedicated van 4–8 working days €2,590+
10–20 m³ (larger move) Dedicated van (FTL) 36–96 h after collection €3,790+

* Prices are indicative market estimates for Austria → Spain door-to-door moves and can change due to fuel surcharges, seasonality/peak weeks, exact postcodes, access limits (stairs, no lift, long carry), historic-centre/permit rules, islands or remote/mountain areas, parking/permits, waiting/loading time, specialist packing, fragile handling, chosen insurance cover, exchange rates and carrier capacity. Not a public offer.

Why choose Adria Moving

  • ✅ Door-to-door removals with flexible collection windows across Austria and delivery anywhere in Spain.
  • ✅ Clear, fast quotes for shipping boxes to Spain, sending luggage to Spain and shipping personal effects to Spain.
  • ✅ Choose economy groupage or an express dedicated van — optimise for budget or speed without compromising careful handling.

How we work

1) Request a quote — share postcodes, preferred dates, and box sizes (send personal belongings to Spain).
2) Pick your service — economy groupage, pallet LTL, or a dedicated van (FTL).
3) Pack & label — use double-wall cartons; aim for ≤30 kg per box, or palletise heavier/fragile items.
4) Collection & delivery — door-to-door to your address in Spain with agreed time windows.

Service comparison

Service Best for Transit Notes
Groupage (boxes) 2–12 boxes, send luggage to Spain 5–10 working days Most cost-effective, planned consolidations
Pallet LTL 1–3 pallets, 1–10 m³ 5–10 working days Stable handling, good for heavier/fragile items
Dedicated van (FTL) Urgent, fragile, 10–20 m³ 36–96 h after collection Direct door-to-door, sole use, fewer touchpoints

Customs & documents (AT → ES)

For most intra-EU shipments of standard personal effects, customs clearance is generally not required. For transport administration and any optional insurance, we may ask for a simple inventory (box-by-box list) and a value declaration.

Personal effects: prepare a clear inventory; avoid shipping IDs, cash, jewellery, hazardous or prohibited goods.
Commercial items (if any): include a proforma/commercial invoice with shipper/consignee details, item descriptions and values (EUR).

Removals to Spain from Austria: what you need to know

Adria Moving supports international removals to Spain and across Europe, covering the details that usually decide whether a move feels easy or stressful. We help with route planning, realistic timelines, and practical packing guidance, and we collect and deliver personal effects with clear communication at every step. Access at both addresses matters — floors, lifts, stairs, parking rules and loading restrictions — and we factor these into the plan so there are no surprises on collection day.

We’ll also help you select the right transport format: groupage (a shared load that reduces cost), palletised transport for safer handling, or a dedicated vehicle for faster transit and fixed timing. You’ll know what information we need for an accurate quote and how to prepare your items for safe transport — so you can focus on settling into Spain, not coordinating logistics.

Best areas to live in Spain for expats

Spain offers very different lifestyles — from global hubs and startup scenes to relaxed coastal cities and island living. Here’s a quick overview of popular expat destinations and the neighbourhoods newcomers often shortlist first.

City / area Best for Expat-friendly neighbourhoods Lifestyle notes
Madrid Careers, big-city energy, culture & nightlife Chueca, Salamanca, Chamberí Excellent transport and job market; higher demand in central districts
Barcelona International vibe, beach + city life, creativity Eixample, Gràcia, Poblenou Walkable and lively; competitive housing in prime areas
Málaga Sunshine, coastal living, remote-work community La Malagueta, El Palo, Pedregalejo Relaxed pace; strong family appeal and a “city by the sea” feel
Valencia Good value, beaches, food culture Ruzafa, El Carmen, El Cabanyal Often chosen for balance: vibrant, yet typically cheaper than the biggest hubs
Seville History, architecture, authentic Andalusia Santa Cruz, Triana, Nervión Stunning centre; plan for hot summer weeks
Palma de Mallorca Island lifestyle, beaches, year-round outdoors Santa Catalina, Old Town, Portixol Popular with international residents; prices vary strongly by season

* Neighbourhood choice depends on budget, commute, school needs, noise tolerance and availability. If you’re planning a move, check postcodes and building access (stairs/lift) and confirm local parking rules in advance.
